1. Policy Statement

East Coast Scaffolding Solutions Ltd is committed to conducting business honestly, fairly and with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption in all forms and are committed to complying fully with the Bribery Act 2010.

We prohibit the offering, giving, requesting or accepting of bribes or improper payments in any form, whether directly or through third parties.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, subcontractors, agency workers, consultants and any other parties acting on behalf of East Coast Scaffolding Solutions Ltd.

Bribery includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offering or giving money or gifts to gain an unfair business advantage.
  • Requesting or accepting anything of value in return for preferential treatment.
  • Facilitation payments intended to speed up routine processes.
  • Improper hospitality intended to influence decision-making.

Both direct and indirect bribery are strictly prohibited.

4. Gifts and Hospitality

Reasonable and proportionate hospitality given in the normal course of business may be acceptable. However, gifts or hospitality must never:

  • Influence, or appear to influence, a business decision.
  • Be excessive in value or frequency.
  • Be offered during tender or contract award periods.
  • Breach any client or public sector rules.

Where there is any doubt, employees must seek approval from management before proceeding.

5. Facilitation Payments

Facilitation payments (unofficial payments made to secure or expedite routine actions) are strictly prohibited.

Any request for such payment must be reported to management immediately.

6. Responsibilities

The Director has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with this policy and the Bribery Act 2010.

All employees and those working on our behalf must:

  • Act with honesty and integrity.
  • Avoid situations that could lead to bribery risk.
  • Comply with this policy at all times.
  • Report any suspected bribery immediately.

7. Third Parties and Supply Chain

We expect our suppliers, subcontractors and business partners to operate with the same high standards.

Where appropriate, we will:

  • Work with reputable organisations.
  • Refuse to engage with parties involved in corrupt practices.
  • Terminate relationships where bribery concerns are substantiated.

8. Reporting Concerns

Any person who suspects bribery or corruption must report the matter promptly to management.

All reports will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately. We will support anyone who raises concerns in good faith and will not tolerate retaliation against whistleblowers.

9. Training and Awareness

Where appropriate to the size and nature of the business, we will provide relevant staff with awareness of bribery risks and expected standards of conduct.

10. Monitoring and Review

We will monitor compliance with this policy and review it periodically to ensure it remains effective and appropriate to our operations.
