Project Overview
EC Scaffolding was appointed to provide access scaffolding at Ormiston Primary School in East Lothian for a programme of external refurbishment and roofing works.
Working alongside RP Slight & Sons, the scaffold was required to support several areas of work, including rendering, re-roofing, watergate and valley replacement, and general roof maintenance.
With different trades needing access to high-level areas of the building, the scaffold had to provide safe and practical working platforms while allowing the project to progress efficiently.
Execution
Our team installed the scaffolding to provide suitable access to the roofline and external elevations where the refurbishment and maintenance works were being carried out.
The scaffold supported the re-roofing programme while also providing access for work to roof valleys and watergates, including replacement and maintenance where required.
Additional access was provided for rendering works and general roof maintenance, allowing contractors to work safely across the relevant sections of the property.
As with all school projects, careful planning and attention to site safety were important throughout the installation.
Outcome
The completed scaffold provided RP Slight & Sons with reliable access for the roofing, rendering and maintenance works at Ormiston Primary School.
By providing secure working platforms across the required areas, EC Scaffolding helped support the different stages of the refurbishment programme from one coordinated access solution.
The project is another example of our work supporting contractors on school refurbishment, roofing and maintenance projects throughout East Lothian and the wider Edinburgh area.
