Client: Commercial Refurbishment Contractor from North West England
Location: Central Edinburgh
Sector: Residential / Commercial Refurbishment
Service: Multi-Floor Scaffolding, Debris Netting, Weekly Inspections & Scaffold Adaptations
Company: EC Scaffolding

Project Overview

EC Scaffolding was appointed to provide access scaffolding for a programme of refurbishment works across multi-floor residential properties in central Edinburgh.

The client, a commercial refurbishment contractor based in North West England, required a reliable scaffolding system that could support works across several levels of the properties while maintaining a strong focus on safety and protection within a busy city-centre environment.

The installation included full scaffolding access, debris netting and ground-level protective foam pads.

Execution

Our team installed the scaffold to provide safe and practical access across the required elevations and floor levels.

Debris netting was fitted to help contain dust and small debris generated during the refurbishment works, while protective foam pads were installed at ground level in appropriate areas to reduce the risk of impact with scaffold components.

Throughout the hire period, EC Scaffolding carried out weekly inspections to help ensure the scaffold remained safe and suitable for continued use.

As the project developed, two scaffold adaptations were required. These were completed to accommodate changes in the client’s working requirements and allow the refurbishment programme to continue without unnecessary disruption.

Extended Hire Period

The original programme was extended after the client’s refurbishment works overran.

EC Scaffolding continued to support the project throughout the extended hire period, maintaining the scaffold and carrying out the required inspections until the access system was no longer needed.

This flexibility was important in helping the client retain safe access without having to arrange a replacement scaffold or interrupt the ongoing works.

Outcome

The completed scaffolding system provided dependable access across the multi-floor residential properties throughout the refurbishment programme.

With debris netting, protective foam pads, weekly inspections, two adaptations and an extended hire period, EC Scaffolding was able to respond to the changing requirements of the project while maintaining a safe and practical access solution.

The project demonstrates our ability to support complex residential and commercial refurbishment works throughout central Edinburgh, including projects where programmes change and scaffold requirements need to evolve during the hire period.
